Ponoko Personal Factory - Laser Cutting and CNC
« on: August 25, 2011, 11:55:26 am »
http://www.ponoko.com/

Has anyone used them in the past? I'm designing front/rear panels to fit a instrument case for the PID Controller i'm working on. Laser cut 3mm acrylic/plexiglass should turn out a lot more professional than anything I could cut myself :)

I've also noticed they have 0.1mm Mylar sheet as a material (http://www.ponoko.com/make-and-sell/show-material/335-mylar-clear). Looks like it would be fantastic for PCB stencils.

Anyone tried them out?

Alex

Yes, tried them for acrylic laser etching/cutting. Very good work, does what it says on the tin. They are continuously expanding their available materials and variations. At the moment I would say their catalogue is oriented towards 'artistic projects', but this is changing.

You might also want to consider the more expensive http://www.frontpanelexpress.com/ or others similar to this. Also reccommended.
