That inspection system is just a photo capture software that then does A/B comparison in the cloud with a few extra features.
Raspberry Pi is more than fine for that.

Yea it is not a high-end bit of tech but the software works for a lot of people.
I don't use it myself but quite a few people I communicate/work with do use it commercially.

3D printing parts for pick and place is also fine. Some stuff does not feed well so ends up going onto a tray-like feeder setup for cut tape.
This is not a multimillion-dollar setup. Got to lower your expectations somewhat 😂

Yes, 3D printing or CNC routing custom trays for pick and place is very common regardless of the vintage of the machine.

Wow!  Going for $6300 so far, that's a GOOD deal on the Samsung CP40 machine alone!

Where were you 2 years ago??!!??  When I started on my quest to upgrade my P&P machine, I saw a CP45 at a local auction and was very impressed.  But, the bidding got a bit high.  Then, I bought a Quad QSA30A from an auction in Austin TX.  That is a Samsung CP30 with Quad electronic feeders and Quad flying alignment cameras.  It has some serious software quirks, but now I have got it pretty much figured out.
But, I ended up spending WAY more than I had anticipated on this venture - about $7500 or so - to get the feeders and repair parts for the machine.
The Quad feeders are a bit fiddly to thread and unload, but seem to work pretty well.  I had a Philips/Yamaha CSM84 before, and the feeders were VERY easy to load and unload, but had really weak cover tape pulling and that was a CONSTANT issue.  I did get a look at the Samsung feeders used with the CP45, they looked "OK", kind of similar to the Philips/Yamaha ones.  how do your feeders deal with assorted tape quality?
The Quad electronic feeders can be programmed for component pitch and pickup position with buttons.  The old Philips/Yamaha feeders only did 4 mm advance on the 8 and 12mm tapes, but the 16mm and wider could be set for 4-8-12-16 mm advance by moving the air cylinder mount.  I kind of liked that you could SEE what the part pitch was set to without installinng the feeder on the machine.
One of the things that I really hate about the Quad feeders is that the reel hanger is a separate piece from the feeder.  I liked that on almost all other machines, the reel is hung from the feeder so it comes off the machine as one unit.

But you have to paint a text on the trailer saying: "This is not a meth lab!"  :-DD
