Title: Suntronic legit?
Post by: xbst_ on November 16, 2024, 09:43:09 am
I need to source a component that seems to be out of stock at all the usual suspect reasonable price distributors. I'd normally source this part from LCSC, but whenever I ask for a quote, depending on their mood or whatever they either say they can't source it, or quote near-Mouser prices. Their usual price at the quantity I need is below 80 cents.

Mouser, Digi-key and most of the other western sources want $2+ per, which is way too much. TME is the next best source, but they want close to $1.40. Still more than I'd like to pay.

While browsing Octopart, I came across Suntronic. They appear to be a component distributor in China. Their website doesn't look that professional and I can't find any info about them here or on Reddit. They only accept orders via RFQ, but the prices listed on their website is a lot more reasonable, below 70 cents.

Did anyone here use them in the past? Are they legit?

I asked for a quote as they only accept RFQ. The price is 3X listed. :(

I guess I won't have to take the risk of ordering from them
