Integrating plugpacks directly into the product (Ryobi)

I'm sure you've done this before for a hobby project or I've use on some repairs.
But interesting to see how they've made an injection molded case to fit around a standard plugpack, and expose the mains connectors out the end. Save time from cutting the end of the cable off and soldering it to a panel mount connector.

First one is a soldering iron, of questionable quality:

Pretty interesting solution. I would definitely check if this whole assembly has been certified by someone.

Chances are the manufacturer was thinking "just toss the certified pack in there and slap a CE sticker on top, and we should be good". Obviously it doesn't matter if you use certified components or not if the whole assembly isn't certified.
