Yamaha Pneumatic Feeder Slot Usage

I haven't worked with Yamaha pneumatic feeders on a PnP yet (only electric so far) and am busy trying to understand the Yamaha pneumatic feeder "slot usage" - I've been told by a supplier that 12/16/24mm Yamaha pneumatic feeders each need 3 slots (8mm feeder obviously uses 1 slot) - the only way in which I can make sense of this is if the feeders are mounted in the middle of the slot (i.e. "12mm" feeder uses "2mm" either side of the "8mm" slot), but in this case only the first 12/16mm feeder would need 3 slots and subsequent ones next to it would only use an additional 2 slots? Something like the attached? Would someone with experience please confirm/explain?

Your expectation and drawing is correct. The 12+mm feeders aren't perfectly centred like that but practically it makes no difference to how they take up slots.

I had a Philips/Yamaha machine with 8 and 12 mm mechanical feeders and 16+ were pneumatic.  But, same issue, the trick is to put all 8 mm feeders together, and then 12 and 16 mm grouped together in every other slot, then the 24+ feeders took up 3 or more slots.  If you interspersed 8 and 12 mm  feeders then you always lost a slot between them.
