Title: Is my question on Structural Engineering (Stonework) appropriate here ?
Post by: RJSV on December 19, 2024, 06:12:45 pm
Hey:
I've seen some science TV show discussing old buildings, in Greece and in Spain.
Does anybody have skills to answer questions about STONE constructed buildings ?

I'm just wondering about the columns that seem to be discrete sized units, perhaps about one meter tall, each segment.  Do those stone joints have any pre-applied 'grout' or other material, to help resist lateral slippage ?
That's a purely mechanical question, but should be ok in this section (or not ?).

Thanks,
   Rick B.   struggling Inventor.

Did you notice the "Electronics" part in the forum name?

In short: No.

Do you also ask stonemasons questions about electronics?

Do you think they could give answers you could trust?
