Bug fix - Fixed small issue with the REFRESH button on the Temp/Hum tab that refreshes available COM ports.
Added - Added a similar button on the PDVS2mini tab.
Also made some small visibility changes to some of the buttons on the PDVS2mini tab.

The PDVS2mini tab has some work done to include ability to calibrate the Wrytech PDVS2mini which can go up to 10.22222 Vdc.

I have made some GUI changes to the main Device tab, moved some stuff around and tried to tidy it up a bit/make some free space.

Edit: Small tweak to the GUI, removed the border (groupbox) around the buttons at right side of main tab.

Hi Ian,

someting not ok with this wersion;

- I just send simple Query Async command and not get response from device (tested at I/O Device 2)

the v3.208 was ok...

I checked myself again, application close, (disconnect I/O Device button was not live)  device restart.... and now looks like all ok again.   - sorry

There's an opportunity for sending empty command or space-character command... Maybe the empty command could be ruled out.

Another observation: (control the application only with the keyboard) when I use the tab key to switch fields-buttons, it jumps back and forth.

All the best:

No difference between V3.208 & V3.209, only the Temp/Hum tab.
You must STOP logging before the DISCONNECT I/O DEVICES button is enabled.

When I designed the various WinGPIB tab forms I didn't pay any attention towards TAB indexing so to scroll round the various buttons etc would be sequential but also very random I am afraid.

Thank You the fast answer

Yes, almost random the tab-key controlling...

Maybe  it would be better if the Query Async command field is empty and push the "Query Async"-button something default command (maybe changeable, or the ":READ?" because it is wery common) would be go out.

There is no 'common' commands really, you just need to make sure you have something in the text entry field before you press the button.
At the end of the day though, if you do press the Query Async button with an empty command field then after about 10secs you will get an error pop-up where you can abort the 'pending' command.

Ian,
I'm having problems getting the interrupt feature to work. It definitely did at some point in the past, but on the current version (3.209) the 'Interrupt Enable' checkbox on each instrument is greyed out. Attached is an example. What am I missing?

You are connected to Dev1 & Dev2 at the same time, and in that scenario the interrupts are disabled.....always have been.
To get the interrupts working in this mode requires more coding on my part.......which I haven't done yet.

Ah, and I thought I had both working with interrupts in the past... I guess not. It is very useful for the 3458's to do a regular ACAL.

Interrupts are now working when connected to Dev1 & Dev2 at same time.
This required quite a big mod to how dual I/O connections work, and whilst I think it's ok I have left V3.209 download available.

One issue with dual device connections and running interrupts on either one or both of the devices is that when an interrupt is active the writing to CSV will pause......and I think this may create slight offsets between the Dev1 & Dev2 data and thus the graphs, unless both interrupts are set to occur at the same time and for the same length......however, it would normally be only a few tens of datapoints at most I guess so no real harm. More testing required on my part just to check this.
This is why I never enabled interrupts on dual device connections till now.......but heck, you only live once!

Small bug fix on the interrupt system. Saw it in the code but not sure how it might have shown up in use.

I tried v3.210 and the two interrupts appear to work fine.

It does cause an issue if you don't set the duration to be long enough - then WinGPIB tries to talk to the device(s) while they are busy, and all hell breaks loose. Maybe there is a way to determine when e.g. a 3485A has finished an ACAL e.g via a serial poll?

There's no easy way to know if a 3458A is ready again without querying it again......which would of course cause problems if you were in the middle of an ACAL.

Is that true, though. A STB? command has bit 4, 'Ready for Instructions', which sounds promising?

QUERY ASYNC yes, but SEND ASYNC no.
And it's SEND ASYNC you would be using for ACAL.

I think I saw this reported as a bug before but I'm now wondering if there is a setting that I may have missed - Specifically to correct the "unit" attached to the meter view.

TonyG

The 'unit' is just a text field. Just click on it and change it to whatever you want.
WinGPIB has no way of knowing what the actual units are.
To save it permanently, go to the Device 1/2 tab and hit SAVE ALL PROFILES/SETTING.

For the slight overlap on your Device 1 I guess I need to adjust the position of the text field.

Added support for Prologix GPIB adaptors, both GPIB-USB (serial) and GPIB-Ethernet variants.
This version is a beta release, so I have left the previous version available for download.
Please note that the .MSI installation file will install an updated .DLL that the main app uses.

Prologix USB(Serial):   address:COM[port number]:[baud]
Example:                   5:COM7:115200

Prologix Ethernet:       address:[IP Address]:[Port]
Example:                   5:192.168.1.208:1234
Note: Use Prologix netfinder.exe app to set IP address etc. No drivers etc are required.

Screenshot below shows the new additions to the INTERFACE pull-down.

Thanks to tppc for his work on the Prologix USB(serial) interface code.

Other mods in this release:
EDIT mode tweaked to include some missing items users may want to adjust.
Profiles SAVE TO TEXT button removed, too much work to keep up to date.
LIVE CHART tab, controls on GUI re-organized.
Various GUI tweaks on many of the tabs.
Various VB code bug fixes.

Ian.

Small update to where the IO Devices pop-up is positioned when the "Connect To I/O Device..." buttons are pressed.
I.E. Instead of the pop-up appearing in a random position it now appears immediately to the right side of the main app. Importantly (pet hate for me) it's not sitting directly on top of the main app.

Those users with very low resolution monitors it may appear partially off screen so you might have to move it manually to see it.

Previous versions remain available for download, I might need some feedback as to how it works on users systems.

Small change to the docking of the IO Devices pop-up. There's now a checkbox to turn on/off this feature.

Small bug fix to the IO Devices pop-up. On connecting to a device after starting WinGPIB the pop-up flashes up briefly, disappears then appears again (it's very quick), and on subsequent connects it always appeared once only as it should.
