I recently picked up what I thought was a Keithley 230 voltage source. The one I got is a 230-1, which, based on my reading, would have been installed with 2 other components and a PC to do IC testing. Anyway, I would prefer to have a voltage source with remote sensing.
If you look at the pictures, you can see the 230-1 has been modified to add wires from the control board to the GPIB board, which I assume are used to allow the intended configuration to control the remote sensing voltages.
The hole is there for the remote/local switch, and the Molex connector appears to be just jumpered. I am looking to put in the banana jacks, wiring, and DPT switch to convert this from the BNC connectors to the 5 Bananas, allowing for remote sensing.
Does anyone have any experience with the 230-1? Are the modifications I'm considering feasible? I assume they are given the manual for the 230 shows the particular changes to allow the 230-1 function.
The unit works nicely and appears relatively young. 1992-1993
