Well it seems that almost all the 5k\$\Omega\$ multi-turn trimmers in my 720A seem to have gone bad.
I'd like to confirm the best way to remove the lower board with the trim-pots. I've already de-soldered the fat black wire that connects to the inner end of R1047, but before I go any further I'd like to get best guidance from those who've "been there, done that" on how best to remove the board - while at the same time de-soldering as little as possible. I think I will have to de-solder the fat red wire from the positive output terminal but perhaps not ...
I propose replacing all of these with Bourns 3006 5k parts: p/n 3006P-1-502LF. Are they a good choice?
I await guidance.
Thanks, David
