these seem to be the binding posts that Marco Reps uses https://www.goofish.com/item?spm=a21ybx.personal.feeds.3.2b9e6ac2U55T7E&id=624047813302&categoryId=125958001 anyone knows this seller?
price is not bad, 2.5€ each (before shipping and taxes)

Hello,

I just wanted to add a "measurement point" to the list, despite long discussions with the seller and hilarious digressions about copper and brass differences, these are definitely NOT made of copper.

https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005006396346537.html

It's just brass under the plating.

BTW, the plating is not an issue, it is very easy to remove with vinegar or hydrochloric acid. Copper is much less soluble in hcl than nickel. so this is a pretty fast operation, a few minutes max, and you can check the progress manually.

Thats why you can just buy plated copper lugs from farnell or anywhere and strip them of the nickel coating. very fine grit sandpaper can be used to clean the oxidation right before use. Or acid dip/wipe again since copper oxide is soluble in hcl. Dilute the acid, and dont let a pot of acid in open air, every steel within a foot will rust (dont ask).

is it even brass? I'm pretty sure I bought the same a while back and found it was some softer stuff, it seemed casted rather than machined

Yes it is. It's not badly made, it's just not copper.
I attached the photo I sent to the seller.

Where are people getting their low EMF binding posts from?

I was trying to buy some from the Chinese user here, but so far they don't really seem to want to sell any.
Does anyone have an alternative source that is acessible to buyers outside China?

I used cssbuy.com which buys them for you and ships them to you. You just paste in the link from goofish/xianyu (look at first post for links). There's some discussion about in on this thread if you look. If you want to make a big order from one shop I wouldn't mind reaching out for you.  :-+

Update - It looks like my favourite pure copper posts from Nimolv and bbs.1ppm.cn(redtony) are sold out. I know that redtony is about to release some new posts (details soon) so I doubt they'll be back. As for the Nimolv ones I'll ask if he's planning a restock.

TBH, I am considering finding just copper bolts or threaded rod and using 3d printed parts to build binding posts. I actually dont need bananas, pure copper spade terminals crimped on copper cables are the best option to avoid thermal EMFs.

Let us know of any developments at ~€2 each they were quite hard to beat but with copper prices rising I’d expect some justified price hikes.
Nimolv said he doesn’t plan on restocking them right now.

Added these https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=40823926055&skuId=61871554357 to the list. I know some may have purchased them so if you have a review I'd like to add it. Redtony (bbs.1ppm.cn) posts coming soon too hopefully.

There are my base case terminals. Well made, seems to be good from TEMF perspective and very reasonable price. They also have the benefit of being able to unscrew the nut part of the terminal completely which makes cleaning easier.

Finally received most of my copper...
it was a very long journey
I'm very happy with the quality of the binding posts, as well as the spade connectors.
The binding posts are very similar to the Pomona, so they have a "classic" look and do not stand out, I can use them to repair some equipment with broken posts.

For my new cables I'm using this, https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005003233879872.html a bit expensive but seems to be really silver coated and not tinned

to connect internally to the binding posts I have purchased this stile of crimp connectors, they appear to be copper, quite soft. the 3A fits well on the binding post shaft https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005010193825635.html

If anyone has a better options for small wires please recommend it
these still require using a pretty think wire, with "signal" wire in the order of 0,22 mm² the crimp is not great.

I'm still waiting for a couple of TBP 3, just 2 for a special application, but I'm sure those will not disappoint.

I have been in contact with him about some things, he’s setting up  a new business that’s due to open soon. So he’s been very busy, he should be back to being able to do hobby things in September he said. So hopefully it’ll be despatched then. There will also be some new products coming soon, I’ll let you all know when we can order them as a group buy might be a good idea!

he has cancelled the order saying that the items are out of stock, so apparently both bare copper and gold spade lugs are not available, as ell as the banana to binding post adapter. not sure if it's that or he just doesn't have time to handle things

Yes, slightly bad news he said he's going on a business trip for two weeks but he'd give me a stock list after that. So I wouldn't expect anything to be despatched until at least the 15th of September. In the meantime have a look at this shop https://shop70023207.taobao.com/category.htm for lugs and other items. I tested some of these and the quality was good although they lack the passivated layer found on the redtony ones.  I actually sort of preferred the 0.7mm thick ones as they are much easier to crimp and easily accept smaller wires.
