ILX Lightwave LDT-5910(B) Manual with schematics request
« on: May 09, 2018, 03:58:13 pm »
I brought one of this TEC controller at 50 EUR from ebay and I found that the original manual published here:

http://www.lightwavestore.com/product_datasheet/OTI-LDC-020C_pdf4.pdf

is missing the schematics (pages 61-65) ...

Did someone has the original manual with schematics?

Even the operator/maintenance manual on sale at a well-known English seller does not have the schematic diagrams....
The only hope is in the good heart of someone in the factory who sends you the missing pages...

I just bought one LDT-5910B which is set to 110V line voltage and the manual is lacking the description how the 3 zero-ohm-jumpers need to be set on the power supply board to change it to 230V line voltage. If anyone owns said device with the jumpers set to 230V: could you please make a picture so i can change those jumpers?

My unit has not thermistor current selector switch ... some switch pins are wired to the thermistor port that's a db9 and not binding posts
... it seems a user modification but flat cable used inside for connection is very similar to the one used in other places ... don't know.

Thanks for the pictures, but your LDT-5910 is not identical to my LDT-5910B, were the picture on how to set the jumpers to vary the mains voltage is missing.
But i seem to have found the problem on my device: the transformers are defective. After figuring out the schematic of the power supply, desoldering the transformers and supplying the needed voltages i could get it to work for the most part. Im only missing the info which voltages are needed for +UN and -UN which are needed for the TEC-Output-Voltage i presume.

Yes my unit is quite unusual ... it has this modification for thermistor and it has the GPIB interface even if is not the B version.

Hi,

I just got a dead LDT-5910B. It seems that I have a similar issue as Echo88: The fully potted Precision Inc. transformer which is supposed to supply voltage to the 7815 and 7915 is broken. Thus my +15V and -15V rails are dead. The second output which provides about 10VAC for the raw 13VDC output, from which also the +5VDC for the digital section are generated is still working. The second transformer (non-potted) seems fine and provides +UN as +10.7V and -UN as -10.7V (after the FBR, obviously).

Does anybody have any information about the transformer? I guess I need to find another 5910B which I can salvage the transformer from, any other ideas?

Thanks,
Michael

Edit: Got some stuff wrong, corrected it.
