Fluke 845AR wet contact?
(1/1)
e61_phil:
Hi,
today I opened my "new" Fluke 845AR. I had a look at the ZERO switch and it seems like these shorting contacts are wet. Is this normal or has anyone put some oil or something else on these contacts?

That is not normal. I'd blow it out with some canned (or compressed) air. If the switch is bad, I'd recommend using a burnishing tool on the contacts (clean the tool with IPA periodically). I would also wipe the burnishing tool with DeoxIT Shield and burnish the contacts, still cleaning the tool with IPA periodically (use only a thin layer of DeoxIT Shield).
