HX711 Effective number of bits?

It's price under 1USD and it's marked as 24Bits, But I wonder what's the effective number of bits? there is not such parameter in the datasheet? How we could measure it?

There's this thread too - they rated it as 12 to 14 bits accuracy but the tests didn't look to be well controlled (the soldering iron temp co test).
