NON Heated LTZ1000 characteristics
« on: January 05, 2018, 09:54:19 am »
Hi,
Sorry if this was asked before but I am unable to find it on the board.
As part of my Masters requirements, I need a PTAT generator and I have access to an LTZ1000 chip as the Zener donor die.

Did anybody has measured the following please:

  • Characteristics  V to I of the non heated LTZ1000?
  • Noise vs current bias?
  • Zener voltage dependancy vs temp?
All these are above my current setup accuracy both in terms of temperature control and current or voltage generation/measuring

Thank you.......

The temperature control has attenuation of about 1mK/K ( AKA 0.001) so, without heating it has 1000 times bigger tempco. Other characteristic dont change really. It has like 5% initial accuracy, temp change is smaller than that.

I thought the 'materials properties' drift got worse when its hot (aging).

Are you saying that the servo loop its in when heated keeps stability 1000 times better?

I thought proper it was 'really' better cold, but the servo look makes it work better hot.

It being more stable simply being at 70 degrees C ambient does not make sense to me.
