For info, this popped up via the UK CAA today...

This first one has a radius of 62nm (71 miles or 115km) around the specified coordinates.

Quote
Jamming activity will take place 17 – 28 August 2020, affecting airspace above Wales and the SW of England.

The activity may affect GNSS navigation and precision timing devices including electronic situational awareness devices and UAV’s (drones). Jamming may impact GNSS signals up to 40,000FT AMSL within 62NM of N52° 00’ 53”, W003° 38’ 31” (Sennybridge).

During the trials systems relying on GNSS reception may suffer intermittent or total failure.

Activity restricted between 0900 –1800 BST

Also there is another one planned for 8 September, though a much smaller radius.

Jamming activity will take place 8 September 2020, affecting airspace in and around Gore Cross (SN10).

The activity may affect GNSS based navigation and timing devices, electronic situational awareness devices (including FLARM) and UAV control. Jamming may impact systems up to 40,000FT AMSL within a radius of 7NM of N51° 15’ 29”, W001° 57’ 48” (COTEC).

During the trials impacted systems may suffer intermittent or total failure. Individual events will not exceed 2 minutes in duration.

A few years ago there were many NOTAMs about jamming, often around Aberystwyth.

I've also heard reports of airfields being displaced, e.g. nominally directly overhead, but practically visible off a wingtip :)

Eyeballs rule; instruments lie :)
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Well the NOTAM is there too...

GNSS SIGNAL JAMMING TRIAL. GND JAMMERS LOCATED WI 3NM RADIUS PSN
520052N 0033832W (DIXIES CORNER, POWYS, WALES). ACTIVITY MAY AFFECT
ACFT WI 62NM (ALL DIRECTIONS) AND 62NM RADIUS OF SITE.
DURING TRIAL GNSS REC MAY SUFFER INTERMITTENT/TOTAL FAILURE, OR GIVE INCORRECT PSN
INFO. CREWS SHOULD BE AWARE OF THESE LIMITATIONS AND USE ALT MEANS
OF NAV.

...but the CAA alert e-mail is more readable.
As a rotary pilot navigation is easy, just drop down and read the road signs  ;D

As an ex-glider pilot, dropping down is the easy bit. Finding the next working Cu/ridge or buzzard is the tricky bit :)

(If in a powered aircraft, add the difficulty of flying straight and level, and not falling asleep through boredom :) )
