« on: January 23, 2016, 01:53:55 pm »
Hello,
I am looking for the schematics of the serial interface T1678 between
the wiltron 68XXX synthesizer and a PC in hyper terminal mode.
Thank you

I guess you need this to do the calibration steps mentioned in the manual? I heard (from a person within Anritsu) that these units somtimes loose lock, and when you do these adjustment steps over serial, these errors go away. Any experience re. this?

Anyway, mine is working, but I wanted to be prepred, and was looking for the same data as you, no success. So all I found out was the following:
The RJ connector on the back supports 2 serial lines. The T1678 seems to do nothing else than splitting these up into two separate connectors.
I have done some measurements on the connector, and my conclusion was that, when you look at the connector with the locking nut in upward direction, so pins on the lower side, the two left pins are RxD, the two right pins are TxD. This is given without a guarantee, but it should alow to build up a test cable and figure out the rest. So in other words, which signal relates to serial 1 and which to serial 2, I have not figured out, I stopped there.
It would be nice if you could publish your results here, for teh sake of the community.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for digging up such an old thread, but I found some possible info on the RJ45 connector in a PDF and wanted to post it since it was hard to find.
The PDF is titled:

Wiltron
Option 10
Complex Modulation Capability
for the Series
682XXB, 683XXB, 692XXA, and 693XXA
Synthesized Signal Generators

https://optech.kz/f/rukovodstvo_polzovatelya_4.pdf

See attached image for pinout.

Best regards
AIY

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to post my findings with the RJ45 connector on the Anritsu 68/69000 synthesizers.
I cut and soldered a dual DB9 UART according to the cable pinout today and it worked.
The primary UART is 19200 baud, 8, n, 1, Xon/Xoff.
The secondary UART is 9600 baud, 8, n, 1, Xon/Xoff.

Best regards

Hi,
i have try this RS232 cable on my Anritsu 68347B and 68347C, with terater and settings suggested by the manual:
The primary UART is 19200 baud, 8, n, 1, Xon/Xoff.
The secondary UART is 9600 baud, 8, n, 1, Xon/Xoff.
I followed the pin-out suggested in the manual:
pin1 TX CPU RJ45 to pin3 RX DB9 female
pin8 RX CPU RJ45 to pin2 TX DB9 female
From the maintenance manual giving "ENTER" the instrument should respond with a "$" or something wrong...
I get no answer.
If anyone can help me please?
Thank you
Best Regards
Alessandro

I have find two error in Anritsu Manual, about RJ45 rear serial port:
1. the DEBUG PORT (9600baud) is the port b), not a) and CAL PORT (19200baud) is the port a), not b);
2. pin out of serial RJ45 Anritsu rear port is flipped (pin 1 is pin 8 and pin 8 is pin 1, else RX and TX are swapped).
Now it work fine, but i don't find comand for debug port...
f anyone can help me please?
Thank you
Best Regards

Hi there,
You can have a look over here where the console of 68xxx / 69xxx synthesizers is discussed:
