Another old AMI Chip
« on: February 11, 2022, 05:17:42 pm »
Hi, after reading this: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/microcontrollers/old-mystery-chip-(ami)/ i registered to this forum, because i have a similar chip which i cant find any information about. Maybe here is someone who can help me figure out what it is? I have like 5 of them. I once got a box full of ICs as a gift where they were included. Many thanks already.

Maybe it's an old AMI BIOS chip?

September 1976, a vintage S1757 UART.
On sale on ebay. Search term:  "S1757 ami"

Mhm sounds intersting: 'It includes the pictured also very vintage AMI S1757 ceramic CPU with grey trace. '
But I think I wont get any datasheet of this...?

It appears to be a UART from American Microsystems.
