Does grounding the reset pin of the AVRISP2 damage it ?
« on: July 07, 2014, 02:09:32 pm »
Possibly a stupid question but my AVRISP2 programmer no loger has so much as a light on it and won't show as connected to the computer. Last stupid thing I did to it was to ground the reset pin of the MCU with the AVRISP2 connected.

It could be since the programmer need to pull the reset line high after each transfer.

That is what I thought although if the programmer uses an open collector type output then it should not do any harm, but all signs say that it's now a dud. I have a new one on order
