Audio line output for SBC OLimex LIME2
« on: June 19, 2016, 11:23:42 am »
Hi guys, :)

So I need to connect a speaker to a Olimex LIME2 www.olimex.com/wiki/A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 via the HPOUT/R/L/COM audio lines, I'm using just one speaker because it is for a hand held device and just one speaker does the job.

This circuit is for a Olimex LIME2  (without this circuit)https://github.com/OLIMEX/OLINUXINO/blob/e1977354d5f500dfb903ca76b9d25543640f79c4/HARDWARE/A20-OLinuXino-LIME2/A20-OLinuXino-Lime2_Rev_C.pdf based on the Olimex micro (https://github.com/OLIMEX/OLINUXINO/blob/master/HARDWARE/A20-OLinuXino-MICRO/A20-OLINUXINO-MICRO_4GB_Rev_G1.pdf) which is based on the official Allwinner A20 PAD (Page 19, https://github.com/OLIMEX/OLINUXINO/blob/master/HARDWARE/A20-PDFs/A20_PAD_STD_V1_1.rar ).

The problem is that I don't have the Ferrite Beads.

And I don't really understand the circuit so I don't feel like wiring it without the Ferrite Beads ...  :-/O

I understand that:

  • Ferrite bead filter out the high frequencies that could came back for the amp when you connect the speaker for example, but not when they go out from the line outs?
  • If I wire it without the ferrite bead does it make any sense?
  • I'm testing the wiring without the ferrite bead with a cellphone but when I connect the circuit ground to the amp ground it doesn't make any sound. ¿?
  • Will it break the SOC if a wire the pins to the amp directly without the RC/FB protection?

A ton of doubts and a hell to break?.    :-BROKE

Thanks on advance and cheers.  :phew:
