Recommended online videos for learning Verilog?
« on: October 14, 2016, 01:34:15 am »
Hello,

My background is in EE and CompSci, but unfortunately I never got around to learning any HDLs, and would like to learn Verilog.  This is mostly for personal interest at this point.  I was wondering if anyone could recommend any free online video series with high quality content for learning Verilog.  This is what I've found so far that I like:

Kirk Weedman - This is a series of video lectures from 2009 that I like the content of, but the audio and video quality problems are a little distracting.

Bruce Land - A Cornell series from 2011 that's very good, but am looking for a more systematic introduction to the language itself before continuing.

EDA Playground - Some good walkthroughs, but not really a complete Verilog course.

Any other recommendations are welcome.

Thanks,
Dan

Thank you for the response and recommendations, evb149.  The MIT site has some excellent courseware pdfs here that I'll definitely be reading: https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-111-introductory-digital-systems-laboratory-spring-2006/

I'll check out the Altera and Xilinx sites.  I had stopped by the Altera site (I think) but it looked like it wanted to get a whole bunch of personal information from me before letting me see the courseware, so that turned me off.  But if they have good material then it might be worth the trouble and spam.

I should have mentioned originally that I had already searched the eevblog forums and found many good recommendations for books and websites, but I'm also a video kind of person, and find them useful for learning.
