Does Microchip Harmony v3 exist?
« on: March 14, 2024, 02:36:58 am »
According to Microchip, they claim Harmony v3 exists, they even have documentation on it, but I am unable to find any download links: https://www.microchip.com/en-us/tools-resources/configure/mplab-harmony
There's even a big button reading "Download/Install MPLAB Harmony v3" but it takes me to documentation and no download links.

I found the download link for Harmony v2 though, so is Harmony v3 really a thing, or is it just vaporware?

Harmony v3  is not a single archive. It is a bunch of components and a tool that generates code on the fly based on the visual configuration. The code is hosted on GitHub here https://github.com/Microchip-MPLAB-Harmony . But it is not very useful without the configuratior.

Oh, I see. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

BTW, you will also find that the same GitHub place contains repos for the example application for almost all components. Those applications are complete projects that don't need anything else to try. Those you can download individually as an archive from GitHub. But if you want to extend them with standard components, then you will need to have the full setup.

Foe example, here is the project for a simple blink doe SAM D11 https://github.com/Microchip-MPLAB-Harmony/csp_apps_sam_d11/tree/master/apps/port/port_led_on_off_polling

That’s great! I recently purchased the pic32mz starter kit with the multimedia expansion board 2 and can’t wait to play around.
