Dumping Rom on i8502?
«

If I am reading the 1988 data sheet correctly, the reading protection is only on the eprom variants. Anyone else have experience before I solder the only working chip I have?
Goal: patch firmware (new chip) and replace.

yes, I read that too, the data sheet was ordered and worded in a way to introduce doubt.

There are other sites that indicate later versions "added protections" and "may not follow the datasheet".
I thought it was worth a second opinion.
