Failed to verify the ID
« on: June 16, 2016, 06:06:37 am »
Hi All,

I have used  LCMXO640C lattice CPLD in my board. By mistake I have driven GSRN pin to low in my code and unknowingly I have programmed that code to CPLD using Diamond programmer. Now, I tried to program back with new code, where GSRN pin is corrected  and when I try to program, I am receiving some error messages as below:

Device#1 LCMXO640C: Failed to verify the ID
(Expected: 0x01281043 Read: 0x00000000).

Check configuration setup: Unsuccessful.

Error: Programming failed.

I tried to erase existing CPLD and When I try to scan CPLD device, following is the error and so not able to erase also:

Scanning USB Port EzUSB-0...
Error: Scan Failed - Creating Blank Programmer Project.

I have no idea how to recover my CPLD back. Erasing current program will help me a lot. How to erase CPLD without a programmer?

If not, please give me some solution. I am very much in need. Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't used that device (yet) but from the datasheet, it states that if it isn't used by the configuration as an IO pin, it can be a global 'memory reset', active low.  So I suggest you add a pull-up and try to configure again.

Hi

*Most* devices have a finite delay between the "config" and "user" sections of operation. The normal solution is to get on the programing pins immediately on power up. I have no experience with your chip, so it may not apply to your situation.
