C18 Compiler Installation on Mac OSX 10.8

I installed MPLAB IDE and it works fine...I downloaded the installer file for C18 compiler and used crossover to install it...when attempting to setup a new project it says C18 not found.... why? Help please.

Isn't crossover a program to install windows Apps on the Mac? Most of the Microchip C compilers are available as native apps for Mac.

However, if you're using MPLAB X try this:

Go to Preferences -> Embedded -> Scan for Build Tools

Also check if you have installed the plugin "toolchainC18" (Tools->Plugins)

You have to download the Mac version. It comes with an installer and everything.
