Wondering of anyone had a solution for Programming The Renesas M38039FFFP In Circuit Without a Segger Flasher 5

I do not have the QFP64 adapter or I would just remove the chip and use the Xeltek 6100N.

The unit (Hakko FM-202) has a Serial Programming Header On the PCB.

I know Hakko will flash the latest firmware for free (I have Already Had 2 Done) but there has to be a faster way then 2-3 week turn.

Datasheet
https://datasheetspdf.com/pdf-file/1150500/Renesas/M38039FFFP/1

Hakko FM-202 CN8 Programming Header Pinout:
Header Pin = M38039FFFP Pin
Pin 1 = Pin 12  P47/Srdy1 / (Busy)
Pin 2 = Pin 18 CNVSS (VPP)
Pin 3 = Pin 57/24 VCC/VSS
Pin 4 = Pin 13 P46/sclk1 (SCLK)
Pin 5 = Pin 15 P44/RxD1 (SDA)
Pin 6 = Pin 49 P37Srdy3/RD (OE) or (CS)
Pin 7 = Pin 19 RESET
Pin 8 = Pin 59 P30/DA1/AVSS

This MCU does not appear to have code protection, so you're lucky on that part.

If all you're missing is an adapter, then you should be able to make one pretty easily, although tediously - the Xeltek is likely to want parallel mode instead of serial.

But the instructions are clearly documented in the datasheet starting on page 91:
Quote
The parallel I/O mode can be selected by connecting wires as
shown in Figures 86, 87 and supplying power to the VCC and VPP
pins. In this mode, the M38039FF/M38049FF operates as an
equivalent of MITSUBISHI’s CMOS flash memory M5M28F101.
Read the rest of that section and you should be able to figure out how to wire up an adapter.

Would like to use the existing in circuit programming header.

If not will keep an eye out for a Segger Flasher 5

Figured someone may have figured out simple way.

Why is the Segger Flasher 5 so expensive at ~$1200 ? If there was any real competition, what would it cost, $50-100 ?

They do not make the Flasher 5 (Legacy) any more. But can be found on feebay for about $100 or so.

I made the request to xeltek for the Renesas M38 to be added to the Superpro IS01 they said they can do it but will take some time or $$
