Is it possible to build an AM3352 boot image without CCS?

As the title suggests, I'd like to do that and flash that (partial) image into my ex-AntMiner modded BBB with 8GB raw NAND boot device.

I’ve heard Buildroot can build all boot stages (including MLO/u-boot) for BeagleBone without CCS.

This is awesome news, although what I want is a Debian-based distribution built without CCS. Maybe what I should do is start with building just the MLO and u-boot outside CCS, just make sure it can net-boot later.
