ICD capable replacement for 16F627A
« on: August 29, 2011, 06:41:16 pm »
Does anyone have a recommendation for a pin compatible replacement (DIP18) for the 16F627A that includes ICD?

I have been unable to locate one using the parametric search on Microchip's page although I'd be surprised one doesn't exist.

Thanks in advance,
scotto

PIC16F87 and PIC16F88, or any 18 pin 18F series part.

PIC16F1826/PIC16F1827 come to mind.  I'm assuming you want a PDip?

I'm not positive they are pin compatible (completely).  VDD/VSS are centered on either side, but it strikes me there's something different about port A on the 627/8 layout.  Better check the datasheet on that.

Also, 16F818 and 819

You must not have looked at the MAPS on the site.

It's a bit easier to use than the parametric, though, it lacks linking to the product pages... (dumb)

16F87 is a possibility, 16F88 is not as all of PORTB is in use.   I hadn't considered moving up to the 18F as a drop in replacement.  Good idea, I'll check into that as an option.

Thanks.

I had not used the MAPS.  I didn't even know it existed.  Thanks.

Digging through more datasheets....
