I like the 1.5 MB inside the chip, it's good for pixelmaps for the UI/display. And the 6 cores of course. But it's 60€ at RS.

Is the camera any good? Seems not great if its 1080p 30fps. I mean thats fine but sony is known for its incredible sensors: https://www.sony-semicon.co.jp/products_en/IS/sensor1/products/isx012.html

Their warning is hilarious:

In addition, the control software is coded in the ROM, enabling creation of a single-chip module that is ideal for the camera module of compact mobile phones. In addition, this product is designed for use in cellular phone. When using this for another application, Sony does not guarantee the quality and reliability of product. Therefore, don't use this for applications other than cellular phone.

As comparison the $8 ESP32 comes with OV2640 (2MP only).
Surprised if it can handle 1080p30, 8 mic ins, and audio out all at the same time. But maybe thats what the massive amount of ram is for, to buffer until it has time to process.

I dunno, but we have a right to be somewhat suspicious, remember: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_BMG_copy_protection_rootkit_scandal

I do not buy sony.
It's not only the rootkit scandal, but also "other os" and other ways in which they try to lure customers into a position where they can extort money from them.

I wish people who post about new products would include the price.  It took me several clicks to find out these cost $65.  Hard to see what the market is exactly.
