Infineon XC166 Erase
« on: October 05, 2022, 10:29:50 pm »
Hi all,

I am trying to repair a board with an infineon XC161CJ. Its fried.

However it seems the earliest time for possible delivery / last time buy is mid/late 2023. I do however, have a few of these I have salvaged from other boards. Problem is that they are locked and I cannot erase them.

Apparently I need the password to temporarily disable the protection in order to erase the flash. No, I don't care about the code on the salvaged chips, I'm not trying to copy or pirate it. I just want to erase the chip so I can load what I need on it afterwards.

Does anyone know if there's a way to do this? I can talk to the chip via BSL using memtool and minimon.

Thanks in advance.
