Request for someone with Microchip Studio installed
« on: November 08, 2023, 04:29:23 am »
Could someone with a recent version of Microchip Studio installed please send/attach the following files? (Or point me to a publicly accessible place to find them that isn't bundled inside an installer EXE):
  • ??/device-specs/specs-attiny824
  • ??/avr/io.h
  • ??/avr/iotn824.h (I'm guessing this is the right filename, but maybe double-check what avr/io.h pulls in for an ATTiny824)

Context: I don't have Windows, and have some code written in Microchip studio for the attiny824. Even though the Microchip Studio project is using gcc rather than xc8; mainline avr-gcc and avr-libc do not have support for the somewhat recently released attiny824 (which is totally different, afaict, to the much much older attiny828 BTW, trying to compile against attiny828 fails badly). It would appear that the avr-gcc and avr-libc bundled within Microchip studio have this support somehow though. I hope the three files mentioned above are the only missing parts.

PS. The Wine DB says that installing Microchip Studio with Wine is "garbage"

Those things are a part of the device pack. You can download all Microchip device packs here https://packs.download.microchip.com/

The one you want is this https://packs.download.microchip.com/Microchip.ATtiny_DFP.3.1.260.atpack

atpack is just a zip archive.

I needed to sneak this in to the source code, but apart from that it's compiled and working:

#ifndef ADC_TIMEBASE0_bp
#define ADC_TIMEBASE0_bp ADC_TIMEBASE_0_bp
#endif

You're the best, thanks so much!
