LGT8F328P mini EVB problem...
« on: January 23, 2024, 02:06:28 am »
A little help with a problem guys,
I bought a couple of purple lgt8f328p nano clone boards (w/ 16mhz crystal) for some projects, and face this:

All sketches run OK right after i upload them from arduino IDE, but (some) will not auto run later on power-on.
They run only if i reset the board (press the onboard reset switch).

The program for the project i work on now is here: https://github.com/crescentvenus/EF-Lens-CONTROL/tree/master
but this happens with all programs i tested trying to troubleshoot (mostly programs using an ssd1306 so i get an easy visual).
PS1. a simple program such as blynk runs ok without the need for reset.
PS2. i run the oled on 5V, so it can't be power shortage on the board's 3.3V line.

Is it the code? is it the oled, or the board?
I know very little about programming, i am just into projects so any help is welcome.

Any ideas?

Well, looks like they have a crappy bootloader burnt in.

I wired one of them as an ISP programmer (LarduinoISP) and programmed the sketch directly  ("upload using programmer") overwriting their bootloader.
Now the sketch loads fine as it should, without the need for any reset.

PS, I haven't been able to program the bootloader back (no need, just for the heck of it) that comes from the known LGT8F328P sources.
