MC9S08PL16 what if /RESET not used?

Looking to update several older boards that currently use a HC908 micro. Looking at a MC9S08PL16 that has a bit extra IO that might come in handy. Anyway, on the LQFP package version pin 31 is used for PTA5, IRQ or RESET. The code uses some BIL and BIH instructions and it's cycle sensitive so I'm not going to change it. Question - because it would be unavailable, what is the downside to not using the RESET?
