Hi

The latest version of MCUXpresso v11.5 doesn't work for me. It installs correctly, source programs can be edited and compiled without problems. But when trying to program or do Debug the MCUXpresso gets stuck, it seems that it is looking for a programmer device but it can't find it even though I have the MCU_link or MCU_link PRO connected, also tested with the PE Micro. I have disabled the firewall in case that was the problem, but it doesn't fix it, it's still the same.

The programmer's hardware appears correctly installed in Windows7 Device Manager, and everything works fine with MCUXpresso v11.4, but not with v11.5.  I have tried to do the installation several times, but it always gives the same problem, finally I had to reinstall the previous version, V11.4, this one works perfectly for me.

As programmers I have the Segger Jlink, PE Micro, MCU-Link and MCU-Link PRO. My operating system is Windows 7.

Regards

From the User Guide, Windows 10 or 11 is required.

It will surely be that, because in the installation guide of V11.4 it says that it supports Windows 7 and 10.

I bought W10 months ago, but I am terribly lazy to install it because I will have to reinstall all the applications and hope there are no compatibility problems.

For now I will continue to work with MCUXpresso v11.4 and W7, it works fine and the improvements in V11.5 don't seem very interesting.

Maybe moving to Win 10 will fix it or maybe not.

It's been a while but I think when I upgraded machines to Win 10 no app reinstall was required.  There are advantages to a clean install however.

NXP has confirmed to me that version V11.5 does indeed only work on W10 and W11.

For now I will continue with V11.4 on W7, and when I have some free time and feel like it, I will install W10 and V11.5 of MCUXpresso. It gives me a tremendous laziness to have to install in W10 all the applications that I now have in W7, and I want to do a new installation, not update on W7.

I finally clean reinstalled my machine right before W11 announcement (good timing!)

It had been brought through Vista Beta, skipped Vista, upgraded to 7 with a hack, then W8, W8.1, and several versions of W10.
This while changing mobos, AMD/intel CPUS, nVidia/AMD GPUs IDE/SATA/NVME etc. etc.

Never had a problem, but not advisable.
