DIP wireless transceiver ATMEGA compatible
« on: June 22, 2015, 08:34:53 am »
Hi,

Does anyone know of a wireless transceiver that would easily integrate with a ATMEL328?  Requirements are DIP package, 10bps or more, 50m range or more, cheap.

Had been looking at the NRF24L01+ however it only appears to come in the QFN20 package which can be converted to DIP but the carriers/sockets are approx £50! Total rip off.  I've not tried SMD soldering before so wasn't keen, plus the ICs themselves seem to be difficult to get ahold of, I can source them on Mouser but they're £3.50 each which I thought was expensive?  The modules can be had on ebay for £1.50 but trying to build from scratch if possible.

Thanks,

James

There are numerous cheap transceiver modules that will have arduino libraries available.

You can get a complete NRF24L01 module for US $0.77 + shipping
