PIC 18F4550
cabocan:
Hi , does anybody know a good programmer circuit I can build for programming my PIC18F4550 ?
Teknotronix:
While not a circuit you can build, I use the PICKit 3 to program PIC's from the same family. Find it works very well and is relatively cheap.
joelby:
Agreed. You can spend a lot of time building the perfect programmer, or just buy a PICkit 3! There's currently a 20% off promotion: http://microchiptechnology.wordpress.com/2012/01/17/20-discount-on-pickit/ .
They're very cheap for what they are, and it's a tool you'll be able to use for years.
kripton2035:
there is also this one, clone, half the price shipped ...

metalphreak:
You can build your own programmer using an 18F2550 (or an 18F4550) but the catch is you need to program it first :P

These are good if you just want to program chips (no debugging etc)
