Pickit3 working on Vista but not on windows 10

Hi there,

I can't get flipppin pickit3 to work on my main computer. I keep on getting connection failed message.


On my old laptop, it works, I was able to program PIC using MPLAB IPE.


Main computer is windows 10 and laptop is windows vista. Are there any compatibility issues with win 10 and pickit?


I tried to search on Internet and there are many cases where people had issues with pickit 3 but I could not find any fix that works for me.

This sounds like USB driver issue. Someone posted about this a couple months ago. They resolved it by loading a different USB driver.

On my old laptop, it works, I was able to program PIC using MPLAB IPE.

If it was used with programming application, it may be stuck in wrong mode.

Working fine here on Win10 with legimate pickit3. I have no idea if the clones will work properly on Win10.

the clones are exact copies.

i don't know if current clones work. old clones usually don't.

all my legit pickit 3 work across every version of osx and every version of windows supported by mplabx

if i can find my old clone i will try
