STM32 OSC32_IN configured as OSC_IN
« on: March 29, 2020, 05:34:26 pm »
Hi all.

Does anyone know if I can connect external clock (8MHz) to PC14-OSC32_IN to STM32G031F8 (TSSOP20 package) using HSE bypass mode? Table 12 in datasheet says that PC14-OSC32_IN has additional function OSC_IN - so in theory it should work. However hadware development note says that:
Quote
The external clock signal (square, sinus or triangle) with ~40-60% duty cycle depending on the frequency (refer to the datasheet) must drive the OSC_IN pin, on devices where OSC_IN and OSC_OUT pins are available (see the figure above).

And I don't know whether that would work, STM32CubeMX allows to do that but maybe someone did such thing in actual project?
