STM32F107 and "dedicated 4k RAM for ETH DMA"?
« on: November 13, 2023, 04:36:08 pm »
The description states "10/100 Ethernet MAC with dedicated DMA and SRAM (4Kbytes)".

It is curious since the 32F417 doesn't appear to have any "4k RAM" for ETH; the ETH buffers go into main RAM.

The 32F107 DS is dated 2017 which probably makes it more recent than the 32F417.

I looked at the 107 out of curiosity because it comes up below :)

That's the same as the 32F4 (RM0090) diagram (Fig 350).

And there you have your 4KB dedicated RAM, it's the fifo buffers!
The DMA will transfer those buffers anywhere into conventional ram.

OK; FIFO for 1 x MTU. A bit of a con to call it RAM :)
