These are interesting.
I'm not sure what the use case for them would be, since they use different core architectures and the C2000 has a very odd core (16-bit is the smallest addressable unit, etc...) which would mean code is extremely unlikely to work without a lot of checking and work.
Footprint compatibility, featureset compatibility (ePWM, HRPWM, etc.). Even if they have to rewrite most of the code, its worth it for some people.
TMS320F2802PZA seems to go for ~$8. So if you produce enough product using them, it might be worth it to port.
Dave recently had a teardown with a microinverter using TMS320. I'm sure they make massive quantities of those, its a huge market.
