What FPGA forums do you read?
« on: December 28, 2017, 04:42:04 am »
Hi!

I'm looking for FPGA forums to read and learn from. So far I know this eevblog subforum and the altera forum.

What forums do you check on a regular base? Or are there other interesting communities? Mailing lists, skype chat groups, or so?

I'm interested in FPGAs for ethernet, trading, cryptocoins and such.

TIA,
Andy

Well, Xilinx has its own forum. Other than I only know of general purpose forums where you can also ask questions on FPGAs, such as https://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/forums/embedded-systems-and-microcontrollers.17/

Also, stackoverflow has some pretty smart people.
Believe it or not, pointy haired people do exist!

I second EDAboard.  I've been helped there many times.  As long as your question is precise and you clearly tried it yourself first they're super helpful.

I've also used comp.arch.fpga and comp.lang.vhdl in usenet. My main source of quick help was IRC - Freenode ##fpga.
