XMOS xCORE build without XTAG?

hi

Is it mandatory to use an XTAG to write the flash memory already with the xCORE chip to be used together?

Is there any way to generate the .bin file and then use (CH341A) to write to flash memory? *SPI 25 series

I'm very confused, it's not explained explicitly.
XTAG also write in this OTP of the xCORE chip?
So after once used this chip becomes useless for any other application? Can't be reused for another project? 

Can someone explain to me how this actually works?
