STM32H533 Cannot identify the device
« on: November 13, 2024, 02:10:33 pm »
Hello,

I've designed my own PCB using the STM32H533CET6 microcontroller. However, when I try to connect to it using an ST-Link V2 via SWD, STM32Cube Programmer gives me the error: "Cannot identify the device".

I've already tried connecting under reset and adjusting the connection settings, but nothing seems to work. Additionally, on another PCB that was previously working well, I replaced the STM32F303 with the STM32H533, and the same issue occurred.

Could you please help me with this? I'm completely at a loss as to what might be causing the error.

Thank you!

have you initiated a connection ...  the screen shot seems to show the interface  not the target infos

are you sure  you don't have any shorts,    does the 533  pins fit the target programmer pinout

stlink v2 : does it powers up the target ?? (normally you have to hack it to  supply voltage ...)   or do you power the target  by external power ....

stlink v2, is it the one on the nucleo board ? snapped out ?  or other built ones   the white one from original ST cloned we often see, theses are checking the target supply,  dont power them

Hi,

I had the same problem as you. Check the connections. Especially VBAT, it must be connected at least to VDD.

Now the problem I have is file download error.  :-//

I use STlink/v2 (clone) and it works perfect with other families, except these H533.

I also verified that the trusted zone was disabled.  Also that the memory was not protected. And I tried the different modes and different ways to reset.

Nothing works. In StmCubeIde I have the same error.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
