Anyone have experiance with a RN4870 talking transpaent UART to linux?

Hi,

I'm trying to get a raspberryPi to talk over bluetooth to a Microchip RN4870. 

From the Pi I can get connected to the RN4870:

%CONNECT,0,B827EBXXXXXX%%SECURED%%BONDED%%STREAM_OPEN%%CONN_PARAM,0018,0000,0200%

But unable to pass data using minicom.

Any pointers would be really appreciated!
