WiFi Monitor for Android with Single Channel METER

(1/2) > >>

EPAIII:
I am trying to set up an optimized WiFi in my house, which is somewhat large and shaped like a U so there are extra internal/external walls between the two sides. My WiFi router is located at the rear at the top of one arm of the U. That is both my office and the closest point to the power pole where the optical fiber comes from. I can not change that without a lot of trouble and probably some expense that I would like to avoid.

So I have purchased two Netgear, AC1900 mesh extenders and I need to find the best locations for them, hopefully one in each of the wings will be enough but I can always buy a third or fourth if needed. I had a WiFi monitoring app. in my previous Android cell phone which had a meter screen (round thing with numbers and a dial in the middle). That meter allowed me to walk around and measure the signal strength of a selected WiFi channel and I could select any of the channels that were in range. I can not remember the name of that app.

Can anyone suggest an Android app. that will do this. I already have several loaded and working that have graph style displays, but they take some time to update unlike the meter which only took a second or two.

Did you mean this meter? It's Wifi Analyzer but, I note in the play store the new and improved version has dropped the meter.

In my experience WiFi extenders are a pile of hot garbage.  Mesh systems somewhat less so, but still flaky.

Bite the bullet, run some Ethernet cable and add proper AP's at the building extremities.

EPAIII:
Thanks. I have been there and already downloaded a couple of the suggested ones. I guess I need to keep trying until I get one I like.
