EEVBlog #833-What's special about audio opamps (LM833)
« on: May 09, 2015, 11:02:43 pm »
Ok with #555 and #741 are the two numbers related to ICs pretty much used up.
Waiting for #4580 or #5532 to make a video about audio opamps would take some 36 years with 130 blog videos every year.
There is the LM833, that was used in Audio in the 90's and the 2000's and is still used today.

Suggestion:
Take the LM833 as an example and explain the differences between opamps designes for audio and those not so well suited for audio.
For example, explain why the offset voltage and offset drift are not that important in most circuits while noise and and nonlinear distortion are.
Where is that smoke coming from?
