I have not much sympathy for them
Wow, that's a pretty nasty reply.
You can't learn to play a tuba until you own a tuba.
My only requirement to help or teach someone is that they show the interest and ask the question. I think a couple of scope use tutorials (in Dave's cool style) would be a good idea. When I got my first scope ( an Eico 5MHz single channel job
) I didn't have a clue how to run it. The old ham radio guy that gave it to me spent quite a few hours teaching me how it worked and how to use it. Ten years later when I gave it to an interested 14 year old kid, I did the same. These days kids are likely to get their first gear off eBay or new, so they don't have the benefit of a crusty old mentor to show them the ropes.
The tutorial should be pretty general. A lot of viewers will be trying to sort out new digital scopes, and a bunch of them will be trying to learn how to use their hand-me-down 20MHz analog Tek. I would think the bulk of it will be about triggering anyway.
