I'm seeing a lot of
Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
right now, that I haven't seen before. The front page says 1784 Guests, 244 Users, so it doesn't look like a natural Youtube spike to me either.
What is going on?

I've been seeing it since approximately 17:17 GMT. Almost every other page I try returns that error message.
-
Similar here. In fact, when I first tried to reply just now, I got the same smf connection problem response.

It's likely that the forum is handled by two or more web servers and one of them lost its connection to the database. That's why it happens sporadically.

Yes, it's happening a lot in the last hours. Any server problems post in this topic https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/website-error-reports/msg4597752/ (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/website-error-reports/msg4597752/) will also send a notification email to the server's admin.

Getting the database server may be too busy errors here too today. Usually a single page refresh gets it going again.

Any errors today were due to a PHP upgrade on the servers. SMF has also been updated to the latest 2.0.19 version
