Message Sent Not Showing Up

I have been trying to reply to a member who msg me privately.  I sent my reply twice but it never appears in my Sent box.  I have done this a few times.

Any advice appreciated.

Profile -> Personal Messaging
Is the "Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default." ticked ?
