what does this mean?

I think it means someone tried to log in to your account and they didn't know the password. So they clicked that link. The email went to you so they cannot do anything more, which is good.  :)
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

There was increased number of user accounts hijacked for spam, so it look like there some coordinated attack going on.

How does one "log into someone else's account using your username"?  ???

If it is "sprit532" instead of "Spirit532", it is no longer your username. I could happily create an account under that name; don't see why that would be illicit.

I don't see an existing "sprit532" account though. Why do you think someone has tried to use that name?
