Purging inactive users?
« on: February 10, 2022, 03:56:14 am »
Sorry this is my first post - I've been a long time lurker (and would sometimes forget to login) and love the forum + EEVblog. I tried accessing my account that I registered in 2017, username JamesH, SMF said the account doesn't exist. Odd, so I registered again to reclaim my username. In my email I found the original Welcome to EEVblog Electronics Community Forum from 2017.

Just curious if there was a purge of inactive users?

There is a semi-regular purge of inactive users:

The most recent one occurred in November:

Same thing happened to me, but is my fault as I was a long term lurker as well.  Best I change that and contribute when I can.

Cheers,
Mike

And what a great first contribution!

Just kidding -- welcome to the forum!

Reminds me of when I had to write X pages a day in my high-school journal and inevitably I would start out with "Well, I've got X pages to write today, I wonder what I should write about. ..."

Thanks everyone, I'm just a hobbyist but will try and contribute where I can. Wish I could still have my account saying I reg'd in 2017 (for vanity reasons - ha).

That explains why I couldn't log in. I've been a long-time lurker as well. I've never had the opportunity to say something useful.
